Firestorm erupts over plan to allow golf courses, hotels to be built on Florida parks
A State of Florida plan to allow for developments in nine state parks triggered thousands of residents to protest. According to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the state’s park service is one of the largest in the country, with 175 sites across more than 813,000 acres.
