SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Three people are in custody and a woman is wanted following a shooting Wednesday in central Sioux Falls and a high-speed chase that followed.

Part of it was caught on surveillance video.

A Ring doorbell camera caught the suspect vehicle that was reportedly stolen earlier in the day zoom by and down 22nd Street.

Police were in hot pursuit and authorities say speeds reached at least 70 mph on city streets.

The fugitive task force that happened to be in the area also got involved with the chase.

It all started near the Midco Aquatic Center with an altercation between one of the suspects and an innocent bystander.

“Before they fled the scene one round was fired off in the direction of maybe our victim, “Captain Josh Phillips with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office said.

During the chase, police say the suspect vehicle tried turning the corner at 22nd and Phillips Avenue at a high rate of speed and hit Nich Kemper’s car that was parked on the street.

“Heard a big bang like a loud crash I didn’t know what it was I didn’t think it was that close to me heard sirens fly by,” said Nich Kemper.

He also heard his mom yell to come down to take a look at the damage.

“That’s where I saw the car there and the tire tracks in the grass and on the street and sidewalk,” Kemper said.

The person driving the vehicle also ran over two small trees.

After the suspect vehicle hit the two trees and Kemper’s car, they took off down Phillips Avenue and it wasn’t too long after that that it all came to an end.

The suspect car had run a stop sign at Willow Avenue and 22nd Avenue and hit a pickup.

Police arrested two of the suspects immediately; a third, who took off running, was caught a short time later.

“We searched that vehicle, but did not find one several hours later a gun matching the description was found on a sidewalk at about 1:13 pm on 24th and South Lake that we believe is the same gun used just a couple of hours prior,” Phillips said.

The three suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Corbat Heron of Sioux Falls,19-year-old Shalena Alexander of Sioux Falls and a 17-year-old.

All are facing a long list of charges.

Police are still looking for another suspect, 19-year-old Karissa Becker.
