SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) –Governor Kristi Noem has received much criticism since the release of her book No Going Back.

However, at least some of the Trump faithful are willing to give her a pass. At a weekend, Trump rally in New Jersey, one woman said she would still consider Noem as Trmp’s running mate for Vice President despite the Cricket incident.

“Well, it bothered me when they were talking about it, and they said why would she tell everybody that she hated this dog. But then when I saw an interview and she was like, no, the dog was nasty. The dog killed the animals. So who knows,” said Trump supporter Bonnie Webber

In the section of the book about shooting and killing her 14-month-old hunting dog Cricket and a goat on the same day, Noem had this to say.

Ghostwriter shares insight into Noem book process

“I guess, if I were a better politician, I wouldn’t tell the story here. But I never ask anyone else to do my job for me, even if it’s difficult, messy, and ugly. I’ve made plenty of mistakes, but ignoring problems has never been one of them. “

Two other passages in the book are being criticized because they contain stories that don’t appear to be true.

The book we purchased still contains the story where Noem describes meeting North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Future copies will omit this meeting at Noem’s request.

In the same paragraph she wrote:

“Dealing with foreign leaders takes resolve, preparation, and determination. My experiences on those many foreign trips made me a better member of Congress and a stronger governor. It allowed me to hone my deal-making skills, which play a crucial role in leadership.”

Speaking of world leaders there is also pushback on a claimed meeting with French President Emanuel Macron. In the book, Noem writes that she was “slated to meet with” Macron in November last year, but canceled when he made comments that she determined were “pro-Hamas.” However, Macron’s office told The Associated Press that no invitation for a meeting had ever been made.

In the book, Noem wrote: “The day before we were to meet he made what I considered to be a very pro-Hamas and Anti-Israel comment to the press. So, I decided to cancel.”

Noem’s book continues to struggle with ratings on Amazon.com. As of today, it is earning 2.1 out of five stars with 96 reviews.
