Yankton inmate escapes during work release

YANKTON, S.D. (KELO) — Yankton County Sheriff’s Office is asking the community to stay alert following the escape of an inmate.

According to a Facebook post, Yankton County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an escape from the Human Services Center. The male is identified as 35-year-old Wade Scott Heth of Wagner. He was out on work release.

Wade is approximately 5’10” and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants. He last had the appearance of a beard and longer hair than in this booking photo. Wade has tattoos located in the inside left forearm with a money sign, the inside of the right forearm of a wolf head and a buffalo skull on his chest.

If you see him, Yankton officials suggest you do not make contact with him and notify the authorities immediately.

Wade was being held for the following: Fake Impersonation with intent to deceive law enforcement, Possession of a firearm by a former violent offender, parole hold and Charles Mix County warrants.
