SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Cinco Mayo Fiesta is a celebration of Latino culture and heritage in Sioux Falls. The free Fiesta goes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Falls Park and includes live music, dancing, food, piñatas and a Chihuahua Fashion Show at 12:45 p.m. The Fiesta benefits Caminando Juntos, a ministry of the Presentation Sisters.

The Avera Race Against Cancer support patients receiving services and care at the Avera Cancer Institute. Activities begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Avera McKennan Fitness Center in Sioux Falls. The events include a 1.5 mile family walk, a 3-mile walk plus 5K and 3K runs.

Rhinopalooza at the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls raises awareness about to the global effort to save the critically endanger black rhino. Activities include zookeeper chats, watermelon for people and zoo’s two black rhinos plus a special appearance by the zoo’s rhino mascot. Rhinopalooza goes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is a zoo admission.

Mother’s Day Moments is a celebration of moms at The Empire Mall. The event includes, games, refreshment, prize giveaways and a Mother’s Day craft. It’s taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Center Court.

It’s Farmers Market season in KELOLAND. The Falls Park Farmers Market takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Brandon Farmers Market goes from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 925 North Splitrock Boulevard. The farmers markets are held each Saturday through October.

Sioux Falls road closures Saturday morning

There are still bargains to be found on this final day of the Brandon Citywide Rummages. The hours at many locations are 8 a.m. to noon.

The Sioux Falls Children’s Chorus presents their Spring Concert at Augustana University. The performance is at 4 p.m. in the Hamre Recital Hall.

The History Club of Sioux Falls is hosting an Alice in Wonderland-themed Mother’s Day Tea. Serving time is 2 p.m. at the club building on South Phillips Avenue. The cost is $25.

Enjoy the 80 new sculptures on display in downtown Sioux Falls as part of Sculpturewalk.They’re located in the Eastbank and Cherapa areas, Uptown, the Steel District and the Cathedral District. New this year: an interactive audio tour of the sculptures.

Racing season gets underway at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD. Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. Races start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15, $6 for students, free for ages 12 and under.

Movies playing at the historic State Theater in downtown Sioux Falls include Freaky Friday, rated PG and Mamma Mia!, rated PG-13.

New in theaters this weekend: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, rated PG-13.
